Is the Kinesiology Tape difficult to remove?
The Kinesiology Tape will last for 3-5 days. But it is quite easily removed. Simply
peel it slowly off your skin. Do not lift or pull the tape. Simply peel it off
slowly while holding down the skin underneath. When applying the tape, if you don't get it quite right, you can peel the tape off slowly and re-apply.
Can I cut the Kinesiology Tape for special applications?
Certainly. In fact, KT Kinesiology Tape comes pre-cut to be used as either "I"-shaped strip or a "Y"-shaped strip. If you need to cut the Kinesio Tape for another application, just cut it with scissors while the backing is still on.
How does Kinesiology Tape work?
Muscles constantly extend and contract within a normal range; however, when muscles over-extend and over contract, such as when lifting an excessive amount of weight, muscles cannot recover and become inflamed. When a muscle is inflamed, swollen or stiff due to fatigue, the space between the skin and muscle is compressed, resulting in constriction to the flow of lymphatic fluid. This compression also applies pressure to the pain receptors beneath the skin, which in turn communicates, "discomfort signals" to the brain & emdash; the person experiences PAIN. This type of pain is known as myalgia, or muscular pain. That's where Kinesiology Tape comes to the rescue! Kinesiology Taping alleviates pain and facilitates lymphatic drainage by microscopically lifting the skin. The taped portion forms convolutions in the skin, thus increasing interstitial space. The result is that pressure and irritation are taken off the neural and sensory receptors, alleviating pain. Pressure is gradually taken off the lymphatic system, allowing it to channel more freely.
Is Kinesiology Tape the same as Athletic Tape?
It may look like conventional athletic tape, but tape and Kinesiology Taping is

Are there areas that I should NOT apply Kinesiology Tape?
You should not apply Kinesiology Tape over an open wound, early healing skin or fragile skin. If you have being treated for cancer, blood clots, or infection, you should consult your physician before applying Kinesiology Tape.
